We don’t solve problems
By repeating the patterns
Of their creation

The Look and See Foundation serves to address fundamental market failures.

Our Grantees

OUR INSPIRATION

The Foundation honors Wendell Berry, writer and poet, whose life inspired the 2018 documentary “Look & See.”

From his window by the Kentucky River, Berry writes about farmers and the land they work. He explores the mechanization of agriculture and offers an alternative to the applications of industrial power, via communing with one another and understanding our place in this world.

WHAT WE DO

We partner with organizations tackling fundamental failures around the acute needs of people and the planet. We provide general and project-based support, as well as program-related investments.

As of 2024, the Look and See Foundation has awarded $12 million in grants and committed $7 million in project-based investments.
